I am a professional PHP developer with 7 years of experience. I'm really into OOP, development best practices, unit testing and continuous integration. When I'm not coding, I'm probably playing around with some cutting edge new technology, reading blogs or a book, or discussing ideas with friends on Skype. Pretty much everything I do revolves around open source.
I've worked in a startup for a few years, building content and document management systems, and a PHP framework to drive all that. Now I'm a freelancer, and I'm available for PHP consultancy. I can help you in the different stages of development. Just get in touch if you want to talk.
Before I was a developer, I studied music at the Royal Conservatory in Ghent, and worked as a film and pop music composer. I still do a little bit of that in my free time: I wrote a couple of songs for the debut album of Lize Accoe.
I love to think about the bigger picture: how to build a system that will not only solve today's problems, but that will be scalable and maintainable in the years to come?
You know your code could be better, but you never got round to fixing it? I can help you set up unit testing, automated builds, code analysis and other continuous integration tools.
Writing documentation after the fact is a drag. That's why I write it first: it helps the team to focus on what really matters.
Blogging, or speaking for an audience is not just about teaching others, it's also a great way to approach a subject from a different angle, and pick up new ideas.
